About Carmen Patrascu, MD
Carmen Patrascu, MD came to Pennsylvania Nephrology Associates in October 2007. After receiving her medical degree in 1995 at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Timisoara, Romania, she completed her internship at the City Hospital Timisoara/University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Romania. In July 2002 she went on to her residency program at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York, NY. While at St. Luke’s she received a New York State Health Grant for the Diabetes Education and Empowerment Program. In 2007 she completed her Fellowship in Nephrology at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.
She became board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine in 2005. In November 2007, Dr. Patrascu became board certified in the subspecialty of Nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Patrascu has co-authored many research papers in the areas of chronic kidney disease, hypertension and anemia management. She has many areas of interest that adversely affect the kidneys. Some of these areas are diabetes, hypertension, kidney stones, calcium disorders, metabolic bone disease, dialysis and dialysis associated conditions. She also treats all other conditions that may potentially harm the kidneys.
